I live and work in Nelson County within the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I have photographed wild things most of my life, with special attention to the plants and critters we share the woods with. My most recent series of photographs honors them in the small, yet powerfully intricate beauty of their essence. They have the power to transform us- if we allow ourselves to see them. I seek to connect us to that truth by capturing the wildly ephemeral details of a spring’s worth of blossoms, inviting our eyes to rest on a pause and feed our hearts. I took most of the photographs that you see here within a mile of my home, most in my back yard.
Heartfelt thanks to Kathy Plunket Versluys for her professional framing and assistance.
